About Friends & Family Weekend
- Family Weekend has been a tradition at UTA since 2006. Formerly known as Parent & Family Weekend, Friends & Family Weekend (FFW) is open to families of any current UTA student.
- Friends & Family Weekend is hosted on the 3rd weekend of October and includes a variety of events throughout the UTA campus and the Arlington area.
- All attendees, including UTA students and children, must have a ticket to participate in the Friends & Family Weekend activities.
- A La Carte Add-ons are available to all attendees for Friends & Family Weekend. The add-ons are considered a la carte, which means they are offered for an additional fee and are not included in the Friends & Weekend ticket cost. An official list of add-ons will be posted soon!
- Members of the Maverick Parent & Family Association (MPFA) receive a special welcome package at check-in and additional perks throughout the weekend. To join the MPFA, click here.
- Every effort will be made to hold events rain or shine. However, some events may be canceled in the event of severe weather.
- If anyone in your family needs accommodations to participate or has dietary restrictions, please notify us at least 5 days prior to the event.
- UTA does not want financial hardship to prevent families from attending Friends & Family Weekend. If your family needs additional support to join us for Friends & Family Weekend, please contact The Office of Parent and Family Services by phone at 817-272-2128 or email at parents@uta.edu. If you would like to provide a UTA family experiencing hardship the opportunity to attend Friends & Family Weekend, consider donating to the UTA Parent and Family Fund. Gifts made to UTA are tax deductible.
- Refunds: If you are not able to join us or Friends & Family Weekend, please email parents@uta.edu to request a refund. The deadline to submit for a refund is September 4, 2024 at 5pm.
